About Prospect Street
Prospect Street Writers House’s philosophy is embodied in poet Donald Hall’s maxim – “The friendship of writers is the history of literature.”
Up the hill from the village of North Bennington, Prospect Street celebrates written language and fosters literary discourse. You’ll find yourself among peers in a distraction-free environment designed for comfort and productivity.
Prospect Street offers one-week residencies for individuals and small groups, as well as shorter small group retreats for workshops, reunions, and collaboration in February, March, and April specifically, as well as throughout the year.
The Writers House is an Open House. Applications are rolling, noncompetitive, and open to all no matter your genre or where you might be in your writing life. Your submission will be reviewed simply so we have a better understanding of you and your work.
Applications for calendar year 2027 are currently being accepted.
